A new specialist school in Kinross, where Discovery Fire Sprinklers playing a key role in delivering the building’s fire protection systems, has been featured on STV News, as its construction reaches completion.
The Seamab Care and Education school has been developed to support up to 25 young people aged between five and 18, all of whom have experienced trauma. Designed to provide a safe, structured environment where pupils can re-engage with learning, the £5.8 million project replaces an older facility that no longer met modern standards.
Working alongside main contractor Algo Construction, DFS was responsible for the design and installation of a BS EN 12845 OH1 15m sprinkler system across the site. The system was delivered as part of a fully integrated fire protection package, including a pre-packaged pump house, a 27,500-litre cylindrical water storage tank, and full monitoring to ensure ongoing system performance.
The project was delivered through a combination of donations, grants and support from partner organisations, reflecting a strong community commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable children.
DFS’s involvement ensures that the facility is not only purpose-built for education and wellbeing, but also fully compliant with modern fire safety standards. The installation provides a reliable, monitored system designed to protect both occupants and the building itself, supporting safe operation long into the future.
