Discovery Fire Sprinklers has played a key role in the delivery of Aberdeen’s first purpose-built complex care accommodation, a landmark £4.5 million development in Stoneywood that has now officially opened.

Appointed by Ogilvie Construction, Discovery Fire Sprinklers was responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of an automatic fire sprinkler system to protect the specialist care facility. The BS 9251:2021 Category 2 system was installed across five blocks, supported by a 4,000-litre storage tank and booster pump set, with full infrastructure to each building and complete system monitoring.

The Stoneywood Road development provides eight wheelchair-adapted bungalows, each with private living spaces and gardens, alongside shared gardens, a sensory garden, and staff accommodation. The new homes will allow some of Aberdeen’s most vulnerable residents to live in purpose-built accommodation closer to their families and community.

Discovery Fire Sprinklers utilised advanced 3D design techniques to ensure seamless integration of the fire protection system within the complex build, guaranteeing compliance, safety, and long-term reliability.

With the scheme now complete and residents preparing to move in, Discovery Fire Sprinklers is proud to have contributed to a development that will have a lasting impact on people’s lives while reinforcing the firm’s track record in delivering
technically advanced fire protection for critical care environments.
