Discovery Fire Sprinklers Year In Review 2025

DFS XMas 2025

Looking back across the year, 2025 saw a massive volume and wide range of work delivered by Discovery Fire Sprinklers across the UK and Ireland, with projects spanning student accommodation, care homes, residential developments and complex commercial schemes, often running concurrently across multiple regions.

The year opened with progress on several major residential and mixed-use schemes, including projects which highlighted DFS’s growing footprint within specialist care environments. Student accommodation featured heavily throughout the year. While supporting the completion of Dundee’s latest offices, James Thompson House and Glasgow’s very large PBSA Cullen House, works also commenced on the UKs 1st passive student accommodation (PBSA) in Belfast, the QUB, and Glasgow’s Renfield Street PBSA.

Commercial and public-sector work added further depth to the year. DFS secured four new contracts in Belfast’s BT1 district and supported fire protection installations at the former Lorne Hotel in Glasgow’s West End, now the latest five-star international PBSA, and design works commenced on Glasgow’s North College redevelopment site, soon to be the latest PBSA in town, while also completing complex retrofit and new-build schemes across Scotland.

Alongside project delivery, 2025 also saw visible investment in people, partnerships and community. DFS expanded its regional presence, strengthened internal expertise through expert assessments, and continued to back local initiatives. This included the sponsorship of Dundee FC, celebrated with the unveiling of the club’s third kit, and support for sporting and charity events such as the Battle of the Badges and cancer research fundraising efforts. The business also backed Dundee boxer Paul Kean ahead of a televised fight, and continues to support the Stars & Rockets ice hockey teams, underlining DFS’s continued support for local talent.

Commenting on the incredible year, DFS boss James Bryceland said:

2025 has been our busiest and most demanding year to date, both on-site and across our three office engine rooms (Dundee, Glasgow & Aberdeen). We have successfully completed and handed over multiple projects to our trusted clients, while also commencing several high-profile developments, someof which include Scotland’s golf complex village, a large hotel scheme in Belfast, Aberdeenshire’s latest large-scale housing development and three PBSA schemes in Glasgow

We have secured over 30 large housing developments and another five major commercial projects, establishing a strong pipeline of work that will see our teams fully committed through to 2028. I can confidently say we have the strongest sprinkler team we’ve ever had — delivering 100% every day, with minimal issues and an exceptional rate of growth. I am proud to say that while 2025 has been a challenge, it has also proven that we are firmly in the mix with the industry’s major players, this year successfully running and managing five very large sites simultaneously alongside approximately 20 housing developments nationwide. We are fully worked up — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

With cutting-edge designs and laser-precise installations, supported by dual third-party certification (IFCC & PART B )and progressing towards full tri-certification (LPCB), we continue to set the standard in an industry increasingly short of experienced professionals. This is what truly sets Team DFS apart.

While our ongoing and completed projects are often showcased across social platforms, and rightly so, what is not highlighted enough is the strength of our office teams, the true engine room of the business. I am extremely grateful to have the best office staff I could ask for. Everyone plays a vital role in tendering, securing, and managing the pre- and post-delivery of every single project we undertake, and they do it exceptionally well. I genuinely believe I have the best team in the business, and it’s a fantastic environment to be part of.

This Christmas break marks the first two-week period I’ve taken off in years, a well-earned chance to recharge before we hit the ground running in 2026.”
