Discovery Fire Sprinklers is excited to announce its latest secured contract, working on the fire safety systems for the Queen’s University Belfast Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA), a state-of-the-art 459-unit block.
Discovery Fire Sprinklers will be responsible for designing, supplying, and installing the fire sprinkler systems in accordance with industry standards BSEN12845, BS9251, and BS9990. The company will also oversee the certification of the project through Kiwa Fire Safety Compliance and IFC Certification Ltd, ensuring the highest levels of safety and reliability.
This project itself will be a historic one, as it will be the first certified Passivhaus PBSA in Belfast and the largest of its kind in all of Ireland. The Passivhaus standard, known for its focus on energy efficiency and sustainability, ensures that this development will not only provide accommodation for students but also adhere to the highest environmental and energy performance standards.
Discovery Fire Sprinklers is proud to continue its partnership with Stothers (M&E) Ltd, who has once again trusted the company to deliver top-tier fire protection solutions for this development. Set to begin in late April or early May 2024 with an anticipated completion date of the summer of 2026.
