Discovery Fire Sprinklers has secured another major care home fire protection project, this one in Aberdeen, strengthening safety provision for residents and staff through a significant system upgrade and extension.
The project will see the installation of a BS 9251 Category 3 sprinkler system supported by a 15,000-litre combined pump and tank arrangement, replacing the site’s existing mains-fed setup. Full FlowWatch monitoring will be integrated as part of the works, providing ongoing system oversight and performance assurance.
As part of a large extension to the facility, the DFS team will install 220 new sprinkler heads before linking the original building into the new pump and tank infrastructure. This approach ensures the entire care home is fully compliant, consistently supplied and properly supported by a single, robust fire protection system moving forward.
The contract represents a substantial and technically demanding scheme for the business, reinforcing Discovery Fire Sprinklers’ experience in delivering complex upgrades within live care environments. Most importantly, it marks a positive step in enhancing fire safety resilience for a building where protection, reliability and long-term performance are critical.
